MicroCART -
Microcontroller Controlled Aerial Robot Team
Project Summary:
MicroCART is an ongoing senior design project sponsored by Dr. Phillip Jones and Dr. Nicola Elia of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Iowa State University. Our current team is responsible for implementing the transition from an old platform to a new quadcopter. This process includes implementing new hardware, including chassis, motors, speed controllers, receivers, Bluetooth modules, and a 3-axis sensor, as well as developing new software packages and protocols to integrate the components. The deliverable product will require features such as full autonomous flight, user controlled flight, in-flight data capture, post-flight data plotting and analysis and integrated safety mechanisms.
